During the COVID-19 lockdown, heritage professionals and archaeologists have been busy utilising social media to engage and educate the public about the many rich and varied museums and heritage sites across the land, their collections, and their stories. Follow the #MuseumsFromHome and #MuseumsUnlocked hashtags for many many more.
In my latest YouTube video – The Archaeodeath Museum Unlocked – I try to make my own humble contribution to this effort, especially since many museums and heritage sites are struggling financially in the current circumstances. In particular, I use my video, showcasing my own modest ‘Archaeodeath Museum’, to promote the Offa’s Dyke Association and its unique visitor centre: The Offa’s Dyke Centre, in Knighton, Powys.
This coincides with me receiving today an Offa’s Dyke fridge magnet from the online shop of the Offa’s Dyke Assocation. Check it out for a range of gifts from t-shirts to mugs, fridge magnets to gift cards. All purchases will support the work of the Offa’s Dyke Association!
I’m particularly delighted to have this fridge magnet as it bears the new but retro-style railway poster view of Offa’s Dyke by artist Richard O’Neill.
