Stone revetment at Bradley Weir

Today we explored the River Alyn just upstream from Bradley Mills. The mills were built in the 16th century but documents relate mainly to the 18th century onwards. Destroyed by fire in 1966, the mills were fed by a headrace descending from Bradley weir. We discovered well-preserved remains of the weir, usually partially submerged by water, and with the low summer water level, clearly visible along a stretch of c. 10m.
